Viljamaria Raittila (b. 1996, FI) pursues to paint the frontiers of ethereal. The subject matters of light phenomena, transience, dusk, inevitable and serenity intertwine within her work. Creating an intimate encounter between the painting and the viewer lies at the core of her practice.
Raittila is currently completing her Master of Fine Arts degree at the Academy of Fine Arts, University of the Arts Helsinki. She held her first solo exhibition at Tasku-Gallery in the spring of 2026. In the autumn of 2025 she was awarded the main prize in the painting category of the Nordic & Baltic Young Artist Awards.
